The report also offers details regarding:

  • Patent analytics for AI technologies
    • The Patents Analytics Hub published an interactive visualisation on AI technologies and analysed patent findings in quantum technologies to inform the National Quantum Strategy
  • Critical Technologies List
    • AI technologies are included in the Australian Government’s Critical Technologies List and the Patent Analytics Hub supports government agencies with patent analyses focusing on AI and other critical technologies that affect national interest
  • Impact of AI on IP rights
    • IP Australia Ventures investigated the potential ramifications of generative AI on registered IP rights. This examination aimed to understand how (or if) the IP system could be used to contribute to social priorities and economic growth in light of AI advancements
